Bio - My Life In Song

My name is Adrian Vivian, and I write songs, I create music; it’s just what I do.  I have written songs all my life, although rarely sharing them.  Song writing is within in me, I hear melodies and music, sometimes when I wake in the morning, or at the supermarket, on the job… I hear sayings too, like  'denial may temporarily ease the pain but the truth will always come back to haunt you.' Or, ' the only thing you can guarantee in life is constant change’. 

In my early years I enjoyed performing lead vocals in covers bands, see some uploaded pics of those days.  Although I absolutely loved performing and found it exhilarating, the creation of song is where I chose to dedicate my time.  In my early 20’s, I recorded an album ‘Childman’ with friend and producer Jason Bond, it has some songs that I still love to this day, I’ve shared a few on this website. I went back to Jason's studio 10 years later and recorded a handful of songs.  

Many of my song’s premise come from inner feelings, strong feelings that evoke something I have to say about a life experiences or thought; I've lived each song.  Once this thought evolves and the desire to create the music begins, I usually just pick up my acoustic guitar and marry my feelings to sound and words.  I love this process;  it starts with an empty space and then you fill it.      

Song writing has often been my only love and inspiration, I often need to take refuge and space from life and it's everyday interactions and this is where I do most of my writing.  I find the whole process of songwriting fulfilling from the initial creation of the lyrics and melody, to the completed piece.   Pure joy to me.  

 In 2021, I've taken it on to self heal and I was fortunate to find some great people around me again, so with my health holistically being nurtured I felt ready to record music again and untangle ‘the how to’ world of digital release, and launch myself as an independent artist which is full on!  Two great musician friends (see song credits) and I have been having a ball mixing it up at SingSing Studios to record three new original songs.

So I hope as my website grows, and with each original song I release, my music will resonate with you, and in some way connect with you.  Also available to for your viewing are my behind the lyrics blogs, giving a background to the thought and meaning for the song’s creation. My life is there in every song, stories of me and the people I have known, all of it, my life, and I openly say here and now it has been an unusual one.    

This music I present is my life documented in song. They contain messages of hope, faith, despair, humour, darkness, happiness and of course love.
